She gathered her things as she walked to the door. She had tears in her blue eyes, but as she turned to look at him one last time, he didn't. He just sat there, staring at the floor.
"You were the worst mistake I ever made." As she said this she felt a twinge of guilt, but she knew it wasn't a lie. She closed the door and walked out of his life forever.
She kept rethinking this moment over and over again. It would never be right and it would never make sense. As she made her way to the bathtub, the tears came again, only this time, they had brought friends. She turned the faucet, curled up in a ball, and let the cold water wash over her. Fully clothed, she began to shiver. The clothing that once had kept her warm, was now drenched. It didn't protect her from the comfortless moisture that poured out of the faucet, as well as her eyes. As her shivering got worse, she heard a door open and close. Knowing of no one that would rush to her aid in a time of heartbreak, she drew back the shower curtain. It was him.
He sat himself down next to her in the bathtub. He sat there holding her. He sat there making her warm again.
